A true family treasure, this early 1980s charcoal wool suit was tailored exclusively by Progress Brand for Simpsons Sears and showcases timeless Canadian craftsmanship. Made from satin-faced Venetian fabric, the suit features a subtle stripe and a beautifully structured silhouette that’s as elegant now as it was over four decades ago.
Though once worn by an elderly gentleman, this suit has been lovingly stored for more than 40 years and remains in exquisite condition — truly as gorgeous as the day it was first worn. When recently modeled by this young man, he couldn't believe its age and commented on how stylish and modern it still felt.
The jacket features:
A three-button front closure
Two front flap pockets and a breast pocket
Two sleeve buttons on each cuff
A small rear vent for comfortable movement
Full interior lining for a polished finish
The matching trousers are pleated with a tailored 30" waist, modestly tapered legs, and a cuffed hem. They feature two front and two back pockets, belt loops, and a clean, flat front. There is some very slight, invisible-from-the-outside discoloration on the inner waistband, despite having been freshly laundered.
